KROGH Cooker Hoods: A Clear, No-Nonsense Guide (Wall, Built-in & Island)
KROGH cooker hoods are built to clear steam, smoke and cooking odors fast, while keeping noise low and controls simple. Below is a short buyer’s guide covering the ranges, key specs and sizing rules.
Key advantages
Airflow: typically 760–779 m³/h (model-dependent) for rapid extraction.
Noise: about 46–66 dB, comfortable for everyday use.
Controls: Touch / Soft-Touch, 4 speeds + Boost, auto-off timer.
Filtration: aluminum grease filter; compatible charcoal cartridges (FWK 228 / FWK 240) for recirculation.
Lighting: integrated LED.
Ranges at a glance
Wall-mounted hoods
Chimney style above the hob; strong all-round performance and easy installation.
Example: KROGH KMT 627 B — black finish, 60/90 cm, 779 m³/h, 254 W, 51–66 dB, touch on glass, timer & boost; uses FWK 240 in recirculation setups.

Built-in hoods
Hidden in the cabinet for a minimalist look while keeping solid extraction. Good fit for sleek kitchens.
Island hoods
For central islands and open-plan spaces; 360° capture and a clean cylindrical design.
Example: KROGH ROR B — Ø 39 cm, 760 m³/h, 256 W, 46–60 dB, 2×LED (3 W), soft-touch panel, timer, boost, remote control.
How to choose the right size
Match the width: 60 or 90 cm to fully cover the hob.
Keep safe distances: ≥ 65 cm above electric hobs; ≥ 70 cm above gas.
Calculate airflow: target 10–12× the room volume.
Example: 20 m² × 2.5 m height = 50 m³ → aim for ≥ 500–600 m³/h.
Mind the duct: recommended Ø150 mm; reducing diameter increases noise and cuts performance.
Pick the mode:
Extraction (ducted outside) = best performance.
Recirculation = use charcoal filter FWK 228 / 240 and replace regularly.
Care & maintenance
Wash aluminum grease filters every 2–3 months (low-temp dishwasher cycle is fine).
Replace charcoal filters every 4–6 months depending on use.
Wipe body/glass with a soft cloth and mild cleaner.
Let the hood run 10–15 minutes after cooking to clear residual odors.
FAQ
Is recirculation effective?
Yes—grease is trapped by the aluminum filter; odors are neutralized by charcoal. Efficiency stays high with timely filter care.
Are the LEDs efficient?
They consume very little power, last long, and light the cooking zone evenly.
